I am trying to think of a quote from the movie "Away We Go" from the character, Tom Garnett?

In "Away We Go" Chris Messina who plays Tom Garnett was explaining to Burt and Verona what you need to have a good a marriage and what you need to really make a home. They were in the diner and he used the brown and white sugar cubes as Verona and Burt and he used the syrup as the love and said how they need to use all of it. I absolutely loved this quote and thought it was brilliant and I'd love to have it for reference, so does anyone know it word for word?
